Place inner pot into machine and place ingredients in inner pot. Make sure to use at least 1 cup liquid and make sure sealing ring is in place. Secure lid in place and turn valve to sealing. Press manual to pressure cook and press the MINUS or PLUS signs to modify cooking time. Wait a few seconds.

"ON" indicates the machine is building pressure. The time it takes for the machine to reach full pressure varies and doesn't count towards the actual cooking time.

Variable Pressurizing Time - Whenever machine is at pressure the silver button will be raised flush. Once machine reaches pressure the display will start counting down the time that you entered.

10 Minutes - When pressure time has lapsed, the machine will default into KEEP WARM phase and the display will begin counting up.

Releasing Pressure

Option 1 - Wait for Natural Pressure Release (NPR) - You can NPR in either KEEP WARM setting or you can press CANCEL to stop additional heating function. NPR is commonly used for foods that needs to continue cooking in the residual heat and/or food that tend to sputter or split apart if released too quickly.

Option 2 - Quick Release or Manual Release - Release the pressure by turning the valve to VENTING as soon as the cooking time has lapsed. A strong, sturdy stream of steam will come out of the valve.

Option 3: NPR + Quick - This combination method allows the machine to naturally release pressure for a certain amount of time (usually 10 - 15 minutes) and then release any remaining pressure by turning valve.
