Trump Fires FBI Director James Comey

The U.S. President took the radical step to dismiss Comey over his handling of the Hillary Clinton email scandal during Clinton and trump's bitter battle for the White House. But critics say the dismissal aims to blunt Comey's investigation into possible collusion between trump and Russia during the 2016 election.

Trump accused Comey if giving Clinton a 'free pass' earlier this month. Trump said on twitter that "FBI director Comey was the best thing that ever happened to Hillary Clinton in that he gave her a free pass for many bad deeds! The phony..". Trump told Comey in a letter that the FBI needed new leadership to 'restore public trust'.
