Lab Grown Meat By 2021

Lab grown meat is quickly becoming a reality. Memphis Meats makes beef, chicken, and duck in the lab without killing a single cow, chicken, or duck. The meat is made from pieces of muscle tissue and it tastes just like the real thing.

A single turkey cell can produce enough muscle for 20 trillion turkeys nuggets, but it is expensive. lab grown chicken still costs around $9,000 per pound while the cost of lab grown beef has dropped from $1M to about $36 per pound.

The team plans to start offering its products to the public by 2021. This could mean 90% less CO2 and 99% less land use from livestock and it could also help end world hunger.
