China To Be World's Strongest Economy

China World Strongest Economy

For 140 years, the United States had the world's strongest economy. But recently China has been taking the lead. This is due to purchasing power parity, that means your money goes further in China. China's economy is growing at more than double the rate of the US but the two nations are on an even keel regarding exports, with each making $2.34 trillion.

But there's still a lot of catching up to do in other areas. China lags behind in terms of foreign direct investment flowing into the country. Its high tech exports are nearly four times less than those of the US. China's energy usage is significantly higher than the US. CO2 emissions are more than 60% higher. China is highly committed to education, investing around 4% of total GDP.
