All it took was an auto rickshaw for this women to transform her life. Meet Geeta Singh from Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh.
Her alcoholic husband left her with 2 kids to feed but no money. Then Geeta learnt how to ride an auto and purchased one on a loan. In just a year, she bought a car and a laptop for her kids with the earnings. Following Geeta's example, other women also took up the profession.
Now, it's a fleet of 10 autos that go by the name 'Gulabi Gang'. Working 12 hours a day, they earn around Rs 300 to 800 a day. Though they drew flak for their endeavour from the male auto community. Gulabi Gang is now accepted and appreciated for their effor!
