Political Shocks Are Stunning Europe

Political Shocks Europe

There are major stunners like Brexit in the UK. Big jolts like the 'No' vote in Italy's constitutional reform referendum and lots of sparks flying in countries like Austria where a far right party almost won a presidential election.

In Denmark, a 2015 referendum stopped closer links with the EU. In France, a far right party is promising an EU referendum if it wins an election in 2017 and a new political party in Germany is scoring well in state elections.

Alternative fur Deutschland leaders are also calling for a UK style EU referendum. Sweden looking at Swexit and there's talk of Dexit in Denmark. Will Europe suffer lasting damage? Or are these lightning strikes an opportunity to rebuild and choose a different future for the people of Europe?
