Samsung recalls Galaxy Note 7 smartphones equipped with batteries it has found to be fire prone. The recall comes 2 weeks after the launch of Samsung's latest premium phone.

Samsung Mobile Business Chief Koh Dong-Jin said " By putting out top priority on customer safety, we've decided to halt sales of Galaxy Note 7, and offer new replacement handsets to all customers, no matter when they bought it."

It's not clear how many phones need to be replaced. Samsung says it's sold 2.5 million devices so far. The scale of the recall is unprecedented for the Korean manufacturer and it's dented a revival of the firm's mobile business.
