2016 Going To Be The Hottest Year On Record

The U.N.'s World Meteorological Organization says the Earth is sweltering and so far 2016 has broken all temperature records. It says climate change is quickening.

WMO spokeswoman Clare Nullis said " Our planet is really sending distress signals, and we need to act, we need to cut greenhouse gas emissions dramatically and quickly."

Close to 200 governments have agreed to the Paris deal, an agreement which sets a limit for global warming levels. But at least 55 parties need to ratify the agreement for it to take effect and so far only 27 have done so.
