In 2014, when Facebook acquired WhatsApp, their original business model of charging users a small fee for an Ad-free messaging service was discontinued. WhatsApp founder Jan Koum then claimed: "Here's what will change for you, our users"Nothing."
But now, WhatsApp wants to test ways for users to communicate with businesses that matter like: hearing about fraudulent bank transaction or getting notified about a delayed flight. Although Ads will be targeted, privacy groups play foul on WhatsApp.
