Wearable Robot By Indian Student Vimal Govind

Wearable Robot

This wearable robot suit is legit. It's the brainchild of an Indian engineering student. The exoskeleton can lift up to 330 lbs. Thanks to battery powered pressurized air chambers and it only cost $750 to make.

Creator Vimal Govind Manikandan was inspired by action movies especially Avatar.

It's Vimal's second wearable robot.

His first was mechanically powered.

He has no plans to become a superhero though and wants the suit produced for the military. He said that "Actually the future of this product is mainly in defence, industrial weight lifting, material handling etc. It's still difficult to walk and run in the 220 pound suit but Vimal's team is working on improving the prototype.
