Yemenis Lining Up For Free Ramadan Meal

Yemenis Free Ramadan Meal

Hit by an ongoing civil war hundreds of Yemenis are gathering outside a charity in Sanaa, Yemen to secure a hot meal for their families to break their fast during the Muslim holy month. Yemen was one of the poorest Arab nations even before the raging civil war began. the U.N says over half of its 26 million population is going hungry.

In some areas, more than 70% are struggling to feed themselves. Severe food shortages have worsened since the ongoing war between the Saudi supported government and Iranian backed Shi'ite Houthi rebels. The Saudi led coalition has enforced import restriction in country where 90% of its staple food is imported.
