There's good news for Asiatic lions as their population is expected to rise this year. Gir National Park & Wildlife Sanctuary is home to 523 Asiatic lions. 120+ are female and at least 5 are pregnant. Park officials believe that 15 to 18 cubs will be born this year. The population of Asiatic lions has increased by 27% since 2010. Due to higher mobilization against poaching. Asiatic lions' main difference from African lions is the skin fold on their bellies. Male lions also have thinner manes.

India has been struggling to save its endangered animals, particularly tigers who get killed by poachers for their body parts.
