Nihal, the face of progeria in India, died recently at the age of 15. He had to deal with social stigma and stopped going to school. Census 2015 shows there are about 132 known children who are suffering from progeria.

Progeria is a rare genetic disorder which expedites aging aspects at a very early age in a child. They lose hair grow a big head, don't grow much in height or weight, and are prone to diseases which affect 60 and 70 year olds. Progeria occurs to 1 in 8 million childbirths and the average life of a progeria patient is 14 years.

Sam Berns, another patient of progeria, passed away at the age of 17. Sam was a public speaker by the age of 4, got the rank of Eagle Scout, achieved highest academic honors, and was a percussion master at his school band too.
