22 Satellites To Be Launched In One Go

Indian Space Research Organisation is likely to launch the Cartosat-2C, astronomy satellite, along with 21 small satellites belonging to India, the United States, Canada, Indonesia and Germany from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Shar, Sriharikota on June 20. The payload includes four microsatellites weighing 85 to 130 kg each and 17 nono-satellites weighing four to 30 kg. Among them 18 satellites belong to foreign agencies. Two of the nano-satellites have been developed by the Pune Engineering College and Sathyabama University, Chennai. The satellites belonging to other countries have already reached Shar and scientists have been carrying out various static tests. Arrangements are being made to bring the main satellite Cartosat-2C from Bengaluru on June 4. This is the first time Isro is launching 22 satellite in a single mission. It has launched 10 satellites successfully in a single mission in the past.
