Heatwave In India Claims Over 4,000 In 3 years

Heatwave has claimed over 4,000 lives in the last four years, with 87 people succumbing to heatwave this year until March, the government said on Wednesday.

2013 - 1,433 people died due to heatwave and 1,393 died in undivided AP. 

2014 - 549 people died due to heatwave

2015 - 2,135 people died due to heatwave and 1,422 deaths in AP while 584 people died in Telangana.

2016 - 87 deaths due to heatwave till March and 56 deaths are from Telangana alone. One casualty each from Maharashtra, TN, Karnataka and Kerala.
