Do's And Don'ts While Drinking Alcohol

  • Drink in modest amounts. The World Health Organisation States that men should not drink more than 21 units of alcohol per week and women 14 units.
  • A two-day break in a week is required so that the liver does not have to overwork.
  • Keep yourself well hydrated
  • In case you have an underlying liver disease or a pancreatic disorder even a minuscule amount of alcohol can be harmful

  • Do not mix different types of alcohol
  • Do not drink and take sedatives and hypnotic drugs at the same time.
  • Do not drive or operate heavy machinery under the influence of alcohol
  • Do not assume that a given alcoholic beverage is safer than another one. It is the quantum of alcohol consumed that governs health related adverse effects.
