Shockingly, over 95% of the world's population have health problems, the global burden of disease study said.

Major Health Problems Between 1990 And 2013

  • Low Back Pain
  • Depression
  • Iron Deficiency anemia
  • Neck pain
  • Age Related Hearing Loss
Poor Proportion
  • Just one in 20 people worldwide, i.e. 4.3% had no health problems in 2013
  • 1/3rd of worlds population, i.e. 2.3 billion, have more than five ailments
Problems that occurred in 2013
  • Musculoskeletal disorders i.e. lower back pain, neck pain, and arthritis
  • Substance abuse problems such as depression, anxiety and alcohol use disorders
  • years of life due to illness rose by around 10%
What About Children, Adults
  • In 2013, about 1/3rd or 36% of children aged between 0 to 4 years had no disorder
  • Just 0.03% of adults did not have any disorder
Rates Of Disability Rising Constantly
  • Rates of diseases due to diabetes have substantially risen, i.e. by around 43% over the past 23 years. On the contrary, the rate death from diabetes increased by only 9%
  • The fact that mortality is declining faster than non fatal disease and injury prevalence is further evidence of the importance of paying attention to the rising health loss from these leading causes of disability, and not simply focusing on reducing mortality, said Theo Vos, Professor at the institute of Health Metrics, US
Rise In Number - Number of individuals with more than ten disorders increased by 52% between 1990 and 2013.
