That's one of the world's steepest funicular rail lines. It climbs a height of 2,400 feet at a max speed of 22.3 mph and a maximum gradient of 110% taking only 3 to 5 minutes to travel just over a mile. It features four 34 passengers cabins equipped with an inclination adjustment system to keep the barrel shaped carriages at an horizontal level throughout the journey.

This new record breaking funicular line was designed to replace an older system which was built in 1933. The service runs from Schwyz, Switzerland taking passengers to Stoos , a car free resort in the Alps which is located almost 4,300 feet above sea level.
