Kenya Announces Ban On Plastic Bags

Plastic Bags

Kenya has become the latest african nation to ban all plastic bags. It is now illegal to manufacture, import, and use plastic bags. Supermarkets alone use 100 million plastic bags a year in Kenya. These bags have been identified as the major cause of environmental and health problems. They also pollute agricultural lands, as well as tourist sites.

Kenya is taking a decisive step against a big threat to our environment. 8 million tons of plastic end up in the ocean every year. And by 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. It's time to take action. Hopefully, more nations would follow Kenya's example.
