Drinking Water Shortages In Peru

Residents in the capital Lima line up for water after heavy flooding and landslides clogged water treatment systems. Peru is battling with torrential downpours with the rainy season delivering 10 times more rainfall than usual.

Scores of people have been killed and 70,000+ are homeless. Running water is being restricted and some supermarkets are fast running out of bottled water. Around half of the country has been declared to be in a state of emergency.
