He grew up in the pacific Palisades, a ritzy la neighborhood and followed in his father's footsteps to Stanford. Where he met future fraternity brother and Snapchat Cofounder bobby murphy. Spiegel worked on a product for business software company Intuit while still an undergrad. Then he dropped out of Stanford to work on Snapchat full time. But he had to move back in with his dad in the Palisades.

Spiegel lived at his dad's even after snapchat opened its own offices. "The rent is cheap." He moved out in 2014 but stayed close by.

In 2013, Spiegel turned down a $3 billion offer from Facebook to buy Snapchat. In 2015, after a big round of funding, he bought himself a Ferrari that same year, he appeared on the cover of Vogue Italy.

In May 2016, he bought a $12 million house with supermodel girlfriend Miranda Kerr and two months later, the couple announced they were engaged. his signature look is this James Perse White V-Neck which retails for $60.

Snapchat spectacles

In September 2016, Spiegel renamed Snapchat to SNAP Inc. and unveiled spectacles. The camera equipped sunglasses exemplify Spiegel's description of SNAP Inc as a camera company. He's preparing to take SNAP Inc. public this year at a $20 billion valuation.
