Why We Need Our Oceans

The oceans cover almost 75% of the planet. They are home to millions of species and hundreds of unique ecosystems. But it's not just marine life that depends on the oceans. They supply Earth with half of its oxygen, which means the air we breathe comes from the oceans.

The oceans are also a huge carbon sink, absorbing over 1/3 of Earth's carbon dioxide emissions. But due to overfishing and pollution, the oceans are unable to provide food climate regulation, and even oxygen.
