Floating Gardens Wildlife Sanctuary

Floating Gardens Wildlife Sanctuary

Floating gardens could restore wildlife habitats in urban areas. Urban Rivers plans to install 182 m (600 ft) of them in the Chicago River. This habitat space will provide a home for native wildlife. Fish, plants birds, turtles and more will be able to thrive once again.

The public area will be open to kayakers, fishermen and nature lovers alike. Every $50 the nonprofit gets on Kickstarter, they will add one foot to the habitats. The first section should be installed by Spring 2017 and larger vision is to create a one mile long wildlife sanctuary.
