John Glenn the first American ever to orbit the earth, has passed away at 95. Glenn was an American icon of space exploration and later served as U.S. senator.

Not only was he part of the mercury seven, who completed the first ever orbit of earth in 1962. But he also returned to space in 1998. Becoming the oldest ever human being in space at age 77.
