Worlds Largest Marine Park

Creating the world's largest Marine Park in the Antarctic Ocean . The EU and 24 countries reach an agreement for a park covering 600,000 q miles in the Ross Sea.


Evan Bloom head of U.S delegation said "We've had a real achievement today. We've created the world's largest marine protected area, and that's a major step forward for marine conservation globally, so, it's a wonderful moment."

The area will be protected from commercial fishing for 35 years. Ross Sea is regarded as 1 of the most ecologically important oceans and is home to most of the world's penguins, seals, whales, seabirds and fish.
