Using Microsoft's Paint 3D

Microsoft Paint 3D

An updated version of MS Paint which lets you create art in 3D using either the surface pen or your finger. We got to try it out on the new surface studio computer. First we searched the community for anything hashtagged #NYC and chose a 3D subway car which we would cover in graffiti.

After an item has been added to your project, you can resize it and move it around. Using small tabs which appear around the selected object an option on the right lets you customize the texture.

You can also add stickers to the object like this mustache which automatically wraps around the 3D shape. Press the samp button to place it, and click outside to exit the sticker.

Drawing on the item also conforms to the shape. There wasn't much lag, and it felt like drawing on paper. When done, you can save it to the community for others to find. It lets you choose a background color and give your project a title.

You can share your work with friends on social media and you will eventually be able to view your creations in the real world using Augmented Reality.
