Fall of Agriculture In India




Agriculture in India has been there for a very long time. India ranks second worldwide in farm output. Agriculture in India contributes to little less than 14% of the GDP. However, agriculture contributes to 50% of the total workforce in India. As of 2013 India was the 7th largest exporter of agricultural products. Between 1970 and 2011, the GDP share of agriculture has fallen from 43% to 16%. Some of the issues faced by agriculture in India includes. Low productivity and Irrigation. In 2010, only about 35% of agricultural land in India was reliably irrigated.
