Chaos In Hong Kong's Legislature

Hong Kong Legislature

2 pro-independence lawmakers defy a barring order and barge into the chamber as democrats form a human chain around them in Hong Kong, China. The swearing in oaths of Yau Wai-ching and Baggio Leung were invalidated earlier in October over language and a banner that was deemed derogatory to China.

Members aren't allowed to attend meetings or vote before they take the oath but the 2 lawmakers insist they have the right to enter the chamber. The issue of independence has gained momentum since pro democracy protests in 2014
