One automotive company is using robots to work hand in hand with human workers. Ford has teamed up collaborative robots with their assembly line workers in Germany. The co-bots help workers fit shock absorbers to Ford Fiesta cars safely and efficiently. Their presence on the assembly line ensures a perfect fit and boosts productivity. Opening up new possibilities for production and design of new Ford models.

These 3ft (1m) tall robots can even be programmed to make coffee or shake bands. The trials is part of Ford's investigation into the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Industry 4.0 is embracing automation, data exchange, and manufacturing technology. Ford is reviewing further use of co-bots that can be programmed for a variety of tasks.
