3D Printed Steel Bridge - MX3D Bridge

3D Printed Steel Bridge MX3D Bridge

These robots are 3D printing an entire steel bridge. Tech startup MX3D developed a software to print steel using six axis industrial robots. Its arms are attached with a welding machine that extrudes copper and aluminum moving on six different planes, the bots deposit small amounts of steel layers to build.

Joris Laarman aims to develop more algorithms to print and construct all kinds of geometries. The MX3D Bridge will be printed and constructed in Amsterdam by 2017.
