Residents of Nejapa gather every year to throw burning rags soaked in gas at each other to commemorate a volcanic eruption in 1922. Churches and worshippers took up the tradition adopting the legend that the lava from the volcano was a fight between a saint and the devil. It's risky business as there are no rules. But to date there have been few serious injuries
