Uber To Launch Self Driving Cars In Pittsburgh

Uber Self Driving Cars

It's a modified Volvo XC90. The car uses a combination of cameras, lasers, radar, and GPS. At first, the self driving cars will be available only in downtown Pittsburgh. Customers will be randomly paired with the Volvos and the trips will be free. The car will be supervised by a trained engineer in the driver's seat. The engineer will have their fingertips on the wheel to take over if needed. Volvo is planning on delivering 100 of the modified XC90s by the end of the year.
