The Real Story Behind America's Water Crisis

Colorado River

The colorado river is drying up at an alarming rate. It supplies water to 1 out of every 10 americans. 75% of the river's water is used for agriculture. Urban use is actually a very small percentage. Flood irrigation is currently used by more than half of farmers. Water streams over the ground through the crops, Drip irrigation would be a much more efficient method. A network of tubes slowly seeps water into the roots of plants. This would greatly reduce the amount of water wasted. Farmers need support to implement expensive conservation changes.
