Typhoon Lionrock Approaches Japan

A powerful typhoon is approaching northeast Japan. It's prompted evacuation warnings for thousands of people and 100+ flights have been cancelled. Typhoon Lionrock is a category 1 storm. It has sustained winds of 75mph (120kph) and gusts of up to 109 mph (176 kph). The typhoon is expected to make landfall on Tuesday in the same area that was devastated by a massive earthquake and tsunami in 2011.
