$8.2 billion amount Shinawatra led government's rice scheme cost the state. The military government has said it will sue the ousted leader and key former ministers for the losses. 13 mn tonnes of rice remained in the government's inventory, because less than a million tonnes was exported.

286 billion baht : The amount Yingluck is liable in damages. The scheme offered farmers nearly double the market rate for their crop. Yingluck has denied any wrongdoing.
