Election Campaigning With Elephants

Thai authorities are boosting awareness for an upcoming referendum by soliciting the help of elephants at Ayutthaya, Thailand. The animals take to the streets and hand out leaflets to motorists to encourage them to vote on whether to accept a draft constitution. Thailand's military government took power in May 2014. It says its draft constitution will ensure stability in a country rocked by political turmoil and military takeover for over a decade but critics believe the charter will give the military too much power. Thailand's 50 million eligible voters will head to the polls on August 7.
