With Cabinet giving its nod to the draft notification of new districts, the stage is set to trifurcate Karimnagar,. Two new districts, Jagtial and Peddapalli, will be carved out of the existing the districts.

Similarly, 11 new mandals are likely to be created. As many as 13 mandals of this district will be marged with the proposed Siddipet, Hanamkonda, Bhoopalapally districts. The wait is over. Unless government accedes to demand of people belonging to Sircilla to convert their town into a district headquarters, karimnagar will be divided into three districts. Peddapalli town will emerge a new district headquarters with Ramagundam, Manthani and Peddapalli Assembly constituencies that contain 10 mandals. Two more new mandals are expected be formed in this new district.

At the same time, Jagtial is poised to become a new entity. It will comprise Jagtial, Dharmapuri, Koratla Assembly constituencies, containing 16 existing and 4 new proposed mandals. The present Karimnagar district will have 18 mandals. Five more new mandals are to be carved out of this district.

According to proposals drafted by authorities, residual Karimnagar district will account for 13,23,081 population,. the new districts Jagtial and Peddapalli will represent 10.43 lakh and 7,32,749 population, respectively. A total of 7.17 lakh population is going to part of neighbouring districts.

In the meantime, authorities are on hunt for land and buildings to construct offices in and around the proposed Peddapalli district headquarters. Chief Commissioner Of Land Administration (CCLA) Raymond Peter instructed authorities to implement orders given from time to time. Collector Neetu Prasad alerted her mechanism.
