MS Dhoni - Pride Of India

MS Dhoni Pride Of India

Dhoni was born in a middle class family, in a state that had no cricket history and was a goalkeeper at a school level. Seeing his potential, was moved to the school cricket team as a keeper. Played cricket at every level and got a job as a ticket collector. Picked in the team where he showed his talent and impressed seniors. he was part of the disappointing 2007 WC.

He was picked as a wicketkeeper captain as per Sachin's suggestion. Won the inaugural T20 WC with a bunch of youngsters. When ganguly retired, he made him captain for the last session and gave him an awesome farewell. Made Kumble receive the winning trophy even though he retired during the series.  India became world no 1 in Tests, ODIs and T20 under his captaincy.

Won the 2011 WC at home - a feat that was impossible until then. Lost a couple of overseas test series and everyone blamed him for the loss. But he stood up and took the blame yet did not give up until the team was able to develop.  Won the ICC Champions trophy in England with a new and young team becoming the first captain to win all the ICC trophies.

Retired from test cricket when he felt the team could carry on without him with the record of the highest score made by an Indian captain. Reached the semi final of the 2015 WC with a young team that took 70/70 wickets in all the matches it played. Still training youngsters and building a team that can survive without him. Continue doing this great work captain! You are a pride of India.
