Living Root Bridge

Living Root Bridge Meghalaya

The bridge that breathes 'Living Root Bridge' located in Meghalaya which was engineered by the Khasi people and War Jaintia.

These bridges are a tangle of thick roots from a banyan tree. It is stabilized by mud, sticks and stones and this sturdy bridge can take the weight of 500 people crossing at once. It sees an average of over 1000 tourists per day. A truly marvellous feat of organic engineering.
