World Ocean Currents

Ocean Currents

Oceans and seas have streams of cold and warm water running through them. These streams are called currents. The Gulf Stream is a current that carries warm ocean water from the Equator to the northern part of the Atantic Ocean. Ocean currents are always moving around the world. They are important because they have an impact on weather conditions on land. A change in the currents can bring the onset of winters or even heavy rainfall in some parts of the world
