GWMC Mayor Takes Charge

Nannapuneni Narender who was elected as the Mayor of the Greater Warangal Muncipal Corporation (GWMC) assumed charge here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Narender said GWMC has enough funds to develop Warangal as the second biggest city in the state and it will be a reality in the next five years. He pointed out that the tricities are facing water shortage this summer and he would review the situation and address the issue on priority.

The mayor said the city would be free of slums as dreamed by the chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. He explained that the TRS government would provide transparent and efficient administration in municipal corporation using technology and online procedures in citizen services allowing efficient services. "Our CM has given sufficient funds for developing Warangal on all fronts. Rs 300 crore has been earmarked in the Budget for Warangal for the next three years. I will dedicate myself to serve the people of Warangal and to develop Warangal as the next big city in the state, " he said
